Saratuspersen - Band

We are excited to welcome back to INDOfest the band Saratuspersen (one hundred per cent!) This unique musical group formed in 2001 in Bandung, West Java, and their contemporary sound fused with traditional gamelan music will be sure to get you dancing on your feet!

Amrih Widodo - Dancer
This professional dancer from Canberra will be performing and teaching a workshop in Javanese dance fused with traditional gamelan music which will provide a real insight into Javanese art and music. Amrih’s workshop will feature Adelaide Gamelan group Sekar Laras.
Gamelan Sekar Laras – Javanese Orchestra
Gamelan Sekar Laras is Adelaide's only community Javanese gamelan group dedicated to the teaching and performance of Indonesian music, dance and theatre, and are based at the beautiful Flinders University pedopo pavilion.
Pak Gede Ika Riyadi – Dancer
Pak Gede Ika Riyadi and his fellow dancers from Canberra will be performing dances from across the Indonesian archipelago including the Baris (warrior) Dance from Bali, Tari Payung (Umbrella Dance) from West Sumatera, Giring-Giring dance from East Kalimantan, and Tari Wira Pertiwi from Java. Pak Gede and his dancers appear with generous support from the Embassy of the Rupublic of Indonesia
Alfira O’Sullivan – Dancer
Based in Sydney, professional dancer Alfira is proficient in a variety of regional Indonesian dances and this year will be performing a contemporary masked dance, as well as teaching a workshop.
Club A Go Go – Band
This trio based in Adelaide are bringing a taste of East Indonesian music to the crowd at INDOfest 2010. Lead by Oscar Asbanu, they play a mixture of instruments including saxophone, congas and digeridoo to make a unique and energetic sound.
Rindang – Acehnese Performers

This non-profit organisation performs cultural dances and conducts workshops in their performance speciality the Saman Dance from Aceh, involving a long line of dancers who utilise dynamic body percussion and Islamic verse. This year Rindang will also perform a welcoming dance to open INDOfest. Contact:
Rudi Mulyana – Mask Maker
Rudi is originally from West Java but now lives in Adelaide and will be teaching workshops in how to make a basic traditional Javanese mask known as a Panji.
Sue Harris – Puppeteer
A professional South Australian puppeteer, Sue’s large repertoire of puppets and workshops includes Indonesian Shadow puppets or wayang.
Dodi Darmadi – Sundanese Musician
Dodi is a professional musician and martial artist from the Sunda region in Bandung, West Java who regularly performs and teaches drumming and Pencak Silat traditional martial arts.
